For many students, taking out a loan to help pay for college is their only option. Borrowing from a lender that caters specifically for student loans, helps secure favorable interest rates and a more flexible repayment. The two main lenders of student loans are the federal government and private lenders. It is recommended that a student considers all federal sources first. This is because federal student loans generally carry better interest rates, have better repayment terms and most require no credit check. The con for federal loans is that there are limits on how much you can borrow. Because of this, many students take out private loans to supplement what they get from the federal government. continue reading about student loans for bad credit

The general college student population uses an array of financial aid instruments such as grants, loans and scholarships for help pay for the cost of college. Minorities and other student blocks such as Hispanics, women and African Americans have access to awards that are not available to the general pool of college students. Women today have so many opportunities that were not available to them some decades ago. Despite the vast improvements in women’s rights over the years, women are still under-represented in high leadership roles and in certain fields of studies. College grants for women are financial aid instruments aimed at getting more women into certain fields of studies in college.

Research shows that more women complete their undergraduate degrees compared to men. But most highly technical and science fields still have much fewer women enrolled than men. It is an even worse statistics when you bring in minority women such as African American women and Hispanic women. Continue reading about college grants for women

For many students, the only way they can meet their entire college costs is to take out a student loan. Many of the lenders out there however require the student to have good credit before they can borrow. But we all know most students either have no credit history or bad credit. So what are the solutions for these students? Students can either take out a loan with a co-signer who has good credit and guarantees the loan or search for student loans with no credit check required.

Federal Student Loans with No Credit Check Required

Your first option should be the Federal student loans. Most federal loans do not require credit checks and offer better interest rates and repayment terms than private loans. Most of this was due to the cost of tuition and the cost of living associated with pursuing an advanced degree. With the advent of the South Carolina Educational Lottery, South Carolina, as well as other states in the nation, was able to see their numbers increase dramatically as lottery funds were distributed in various scholarships around the state. The Federal Pell Grant: What is it?

In a nutshell the federal Pell grant is a way for low income, as well as middle income, families to send their students to college for undergraduate studies. The Pell grant itself has gone through multiple changes over its lifespan and actually started as part of the Higher Education Act enacted almost fifty years ago. It would later go on to split off from the student loan department to become its own entity. This is why those applying for student loans have to reapply and use differing forms to apply for a federal Pell grant.

Though there have been minute changes throughout that nearly 50 year lifespan, most have not been significant and it has not been until recently that a major reconstruction for eligibility requirements were instated. Continue reading about the Federal Pell Grant..
